Oh we use it quite a lot because it's fairly cheap in our area. But it's delicious

Oh I get it, I honestly can't play RPG video games because I hate the fact that I can't walk over that rock because it's a boundary of my pixel world. I don't *feel* limitations in platformers/ fps/other genres but it chafes in an RPG

But I will also say the freedom and involvement of other people that comes from tabletop gaming can go higher and lower and completely sideways in ways that a curated experience won't be. So take it with a grain of salt

I think you have to think of them as different experiences. Baldur's Gate is more like a really great "Choose your own adventure book" and I don't mean that in a diminishing capacity. It's just still always going to be on rails, whereas tabletop doesn't have that limitation.

I think the answer, like most things, is it's kind of complicated and depends on the individual and the passion/career change..some things are just going to be physically (or in some cases mentally) impossible at a certain point or for certain people, but most things are doable but require work/luck
