The motto for Ul'dah is "For Coin and Country". This comes from their history as a hub for merchants and trade in Eorzea. Moreover, their flag includes a jewel of prosperity and their deity is Nald'thal, the god of commerce.

Nanamo Ul Namo's parents came from two different lives. He, a member of the royal family. She, the daughter of a modest merchant house. They met at a palace banquet--an opportunity to mix with the notables of commerce--and it was love at first sight.

Ok so if it's just one person, it's one thing but this was a lot of y'all.

I want to clarify, Nanamo's father was very against banning beast tribes from Ul'dah. He wanted to celebrate the positive contribution of beast tribes, past and present. However, the rich/elite hated him

The Amalj'aa constructed Zahar'ak when they came to join Ul'dah in purging the undead infestation from the subterrane. Through this, Zahar'ak was their main war camp with many underground forward bases as a defensive measure.
