The fact that @gruber.foo has written about Alan Dye leaving apple seven times now is a real bright spot in my world. The thought that iOS and MacOS could suck less in the next release... wow, so amazing. Hope!

United Healthcare is truly evil

I have personally experienced the kind of delay/deny/douchebaggery Fairview has accused UHC of.
UnitedHealthcare dispute could block 125K patients from M Health Fairview next year
The contract impasse, over Fairview’s demand for a 23% price hike over three years in employer coverage, comes after the parties resolved a dispute over Medicare Advantage patients.

The new approach, of deactivating _some_ links without recent activity, has got to be more complicated than keeping them all working. I'm not google, but I keep a few million redirects working at a place with a longer web presence. Totally possible.

Fuck you, on so many levels, Meta, but especially for how you purposely hamstring hyperlinks in Instagram.

Hands down, the worst rental cars are always Chevrolets. I currently have a trailblazer. It is a total piece of junk. CarPlay doesn't work half the time. The throttle response is a joke. Put the pedal on the floor and the engine revs but the car does not move. I am ruined by my EV.

This is terrifying. No software engineer should be doing anything like these kids are doing. A 19 year old software engineer is the worst; they think they are smart AF, but are, in fact dumber than rocks.

I found the strangest bug ever. Apple Messages filters out the og:image of your posted link if it determines if it is not "interesting" enough. Apparently, scoring 2 is interesting, any other score not. The algorithm that defines this is a black box, and not something Apple should control.

Lesson I hope TikTok ban teaches America. Some politicians are too ducking old, and; comprehensive electronic privacy reform and regulation is sorely needed.
