In previous years, the scholarship was awarded to Samuele Paronuzzi (University of Padua) and Alena Bezousková (University of Prague).
The scholarship is intended to support promising students, especially from distant countries, by enabling them to attend the DEEM in Rome and to pursue advanced training in the disciplines essential for the study of medieval Latin manuscripts.

The scholarship is intended to support promising students, especially from distant countries, by enabling them to attend the DEEM in Rome and to pursue advanced training in the disciplines essential for the study of medieval Latin manuscripts.
Its main aim is to foster academic exchange among scholars working in the fields of palaeography, diplomatics, and sigillography, coming from different historiographical traditions and at various stages of their academic careers.

The congress is jointly organised by the University of Coimbra, the Complutense University of Madrid, and the Portuguese Society for Medieval Studies (Sociedade Portuguesa de Estudos Medievais).
