FIELD-UNIT-4444 SEEKING LOST SHUTTLE-UNIT-4223
Log-7

Nothing to report, got some time while my co-pilot traces back those nanotubes. Got some lunch though, leftovers from a Xelan takeout place from the nearest spacestation, about 4 systems away I think? Pretty good.

Investigating the freighter has had no leads on the shuttle. It seems to have been ripped apart by a juvenile leviathan. Earth’s moon has proved fruitful though, fragments of carbon nanotubes were orbiting it, almost didn’t see them but our pulse scanner just barely caught it.

We’ve detected and got a successful ID on a ship. It doesn’t have a salvage or research license attached to its plate. Before we could hail it it warped away, it’s undetectable now, seems their ship has void corruption, it’s distorting the trail. Shame.

Log-4

After some EVA exploration we found a broken into cargo hold, a dead void hound with a metal disc smashed into its skull, the body is ~2 days old and has already started to begin the dusting process. Along with that a dormant void mass was found, with evidence of tearing and trauma to it.

Emergency signal has been located, a large emperor freighter. Some rich transport bigshot. Was holding a lot of valuable tech, man if only I was a scrapper. That's besides the point, there's remnants of void matter on the freighter. Seems it was torn in half, big bites taken out of the front.

Alright, we got something. An emergency signal orbiting a death world, I think it’s called “Earth” Apparently a few thousand years ago this place was the central planet for Humanity, I wouldn’t know really, I’m not a historian or a human.

Today is the day, I started the log, now Gerick can stop complaining. So far we’ve been searching the last known location of Shuttle-4223, no sign of much, we’ve found metal salvage and carbon nanotubes, no definite sign of the ship though, these could be from anything.
