Things will get better, and you'll be better for it, I promise. It may not feel like it now, but it will

Thank goodness for Gun at that moment

Ooh okay this is very helpful. I've had an undercut in the past and really liked it, but maybe I'll try something new.

Writing this down, remembering this, thank you 😌

I've got a friend who cuts hair sometimes, so I'm just gonna make her a nice dinner/slip her some cash and put my life in her hands, at this point 😭 We're talking an undercut, but we'll see!

Yup yup, and poofy at the sides. Currently walking around with hair shaped like I'm balding but I won't just shave the sides

Mine is the exact same way. I keep trying to grow it out for fun, but the moment it hits my shoulders, it's too heavy to curl or have any lift at all

You definitely look waaaaay more like her than your dad (though tbh you're prettier)
January 11, 2026 at 10:50 PM
Oh that's right lmfaooo. That SOB loves disintegrating my friends
January 11, 2026 at 9:39 PM
I think since Tux joined the party, it's only been the uhhhhhhh the one disintegration when we tried to cross the floor with all the traps, right? I can't remember any since we entered The Dreaming

The doll is living the day I want to be living 😔
January 11, 2026 at 6:50 PM
Fantastic, I absolutely will!
January 11, 2026 at 5:27 PM
That's such a kind offer! I would very much appreciate that, thank you!
January 11, 2026 at 5:15 PM
Haha, I need to get back to those too. I finished THE HOBBIT and FELLOWSHIP, but only read a little of TWO TOWERS.
January 11, 2026 at 5:14 PM
Next up, we're focusing hard on BLACK FLAME, but I think I'll also get a start on 2666--that little volume on the bottom is one of three, so that one will probably roll over to February regardless, but I better get going.

I also just love that Ballingrud does not in any way pull back on the horrors of body and mind and spirit of Hell, these wretched experiences that infect and seep, and then you close the book and you think, "Oh. That was only the border."
January 11, 2026 at 7:52 AM
But both "The Maw" + "The Butcher's Table" do so much with their images without ever overexposing. The glimpse of one of the Surgeons, this giant thing that moves like it's underwater, seen during an evacuation? The little peek into the rituals of the diabolists dipping into Hell's shore? Oh, yes.
January 11, 2026 at 7:52 AM
My star pick on this, though I think "The Butcher's Table" is maybe the perfect end for the collection, is definitely "The Visible Filth." Nothing gets to me like the dawning horror that something has been in the room with you, and it's only now that you're picking up on that silhouette.
