For example, it says “in 2024, X number of accidents happened for Y type of climbing” for alpine, trad, and sport

But aren’t expert alpine climbers far more likely to report accidents to the AAC than, say, a novice sport climber?

These numbers seem low to me, so I looked it up and found that ANAC is a selection of the most “significant and teachable” accidents of the year, and only includes accidents that are submitted to the AAC

So maybe I’m missing something, but it seems like this article might be a little misleading
