All of the teeth and skulls have settled into place. Rhythm, order, amazement. Sometimes the pellets I find contain hardly any bones. During some seasons, the owls consume mostly crickets. Perhaps, I will make a mandala of insects.

I am humbled by the number of animals that contribute to ecosystems.
A lower hind leg bone is called a tibia/fibula. I meditate on my own. How each creature evolved to have its own bones specially made to its survival. How amazing it is to have a body.

After collecting a bird pellet, I began sterilizing it. First I heat treat the pellet. This kills most living bacteria and viruses. I then dissect each pellet while wearing a dust mask and gloves. The viable bones are soaked in hydrogen peroxide, then dried and sorted.
