It wants you to have a much different mindset when it comes to its exploration and platforming that kinda goes against what a lot of people like in sonic games, but trying to find interesting places to abuse the physics or interesting places to time travel in order to find the generators is fun imo

Whilst I probably don't need to elaborate on the former, I think when you engage with the exploration there's a lot of fun to be found gameplay wise. I think later games like 3&K did it better, but I just find it super interesting to look at their first try of it yknow.

Fair enough, I can't really say I feel the same way but i understand where you're coming from. Whilst CD is far from my favourite classic sonic title, I think the value it brings in its strong presentation and the exploration focused design makes me enjoy it a lot more than I would normally
