You know what you can overdose on? Alcohol. That's legal. Guess what you can't overdose on? Sex, which prior to the modern age had so many stipulations and laws to it most forms of it were seen as illegal because of fundamentalist views until the later 1900s and beyond.

Most of the core tenets and laws that predate Christianity as a religion also predate the Roman Empire. Long before Jesus was ever a thing in the west people generally agreed murder, stealing, lying, and cheating was wrong. Christianity introduced nothing new other than making sex as whole taboo.

I dunno if your average US citizen realizes this or not but theist religions, especially of the Abrahamic kind tend to 'claim' to own and be the backbone of law and morality. Even though none of that is true.

By this logic any cop could attempt to have their backup stand in front of a car during a traffic stop, sidestep the car if they attempt to flee, and shoot the driver dead and it is justified with this logic.

MAGA acts like Russia is some great power to take seriously and gives China far too much credit while spitting on our actual Western allies. China and Russia are not the US's friends. Historically, they have been rivals at best and hostile to the US at worst.
