The thing is, I feel like if someone truly, accidentally, & unintentionally made a n*zi salute on a national stage, they would be appropriately horrified by it and apologize. And when they don’t ….. it says everything.

And I feel like with X-Men fans being a different breed of fandom that often you can tell a lot about a person based off what character they’ve really latched onto and that’s a good thing.

Definitely something I’ve been thinking about lately. Like how there were characters and storylines that I really latched onto as a kid. Sometimes it was just because they were badass but other times there was a deeper reason that never became clear until I was older and self reflect.

A child’s mind is so incredibly pliable and we all experienced it growing up. The things that shaped us, molded us and impacted our trajectory into adulthood. This is a deeper reason why comics are so great; it brings the notions of right and wrong in a more relatable way to the young mind.

This is the first comic book I ever read and the original copy of it handed to me in 1989. This past September the legendary X-Men scribe, and writer of this issue, Chris Claremont signed it for me. Childhood dream secured.
