Nope. I saw someone make a point that resonated with me, so I responded

Seems like what I said didn’t resonate with you though, so I’ll move along

I see your point—like Magic, cube isn’t a monolith, so it’s weird to describe it as one thing

That said, have you been to any cube events? When I first went, I was struck by how consistently people were nice and chill, and now I associate that vibe with cube in general :)

1U feels like a much better place for this. Divination+ is not an exciting payoff, but closing the gap between the floor and ~Opt should at least make it less disappointing

I think you could get away with this at WW and uncommon. Interesting question because straight lifegain is weak yet 15 total life is a lot (compare Rest for the Weary). That said, this design still seems quite slow.

Another great case for the KTK morph rule: what if you could unmorph for 3 mana, then not just eat their morph but keep it?

Sadly not on MTGO anymore, the draft happened back in August :( Not the first time my slow rate of uploads got people's hopes up either :/
December 6, 2025 at 5:49 PM
It was a chaos draft, which I think might be similar :)

Time Spiral is a sweet format :) That said, I titled my most recent draft video of it “On-Board Tricks: The Format”, so I can see how that gameplay might not be for everyone, haha

I hear what you’re saying and I agree people forget that strength is often relative to rate, not mechanics.

That said, some mechanics seem extra dangerous/tough to balance (e.g. phyrexian mana and storm). If not “busted”, I think those mechanics are “at high risk of leading to busted cards”

Between Trail and Scrapwork Mutt you seem to have a good track record for deeming cards perfect :)
December 3, 2025 at 5:16 PM
Gotta go Cake Trail Egg. Love a colorless 1 that lets me keep almost any hand, and hate one-time fixing
December 3, 2025 at 3:52 PM
Definitely a mediocre card. That said, I once used it to kill a 6/6 trample and draw a card! Not a bad deal for 2G 😀

Lmao

Cool card, I don't think I've seen it before! Reminds me of this one but I like the bird more

Gotcha. My first reaction to “everything is Razor Swine” was to think of Caltrops and Night of Souls’ Betrayal, but I assume that’s not the direction you’d wanna go, lol
November 25, 2025 at 2:30 PM
New Phyrexia is a small set so I’ve seen my fair share of Razor Swines, but this is still a hilariously large number of them to me
November 25, 2025 at 2:20 PM
I was thinking something like that about red at first, too. But I feel like there's a pretty convincing case to be made that rakdos specifically is ambivalent about living vs dying
November 25, 2025 at 12:53 AM
Took me a second to get behind Ambivalence as BR but now I really like it. I’m imagining something like, “When ~ enters, choose target creature, then flip a coin. If you win the flip, destroy ~ and the chosen creature.” (And if you lose the flip they both live)

Just noticed something funny: I posted this a year ago today. I guess 11/24 is Scuttling Doom Engine Day lol
November 24, 2025 at 11:53 PM
Any reason you lean Hunt for Specimens over Pop Quiz? I don’t have much experience with either so I think I’d have trouble deciding
November 24, 2025 at 11:50 PM
Couldn’t agree more 😉 bsky.app/profile/fini...
Dunno about favorite, but this 6-drop is everything I’m looking for in an #mtgcube card: powerful, beatable, underplayed, and fun!

Maybe a snarky way to frame it, but seems like it would still have a wholesome result :)

Therapist hat is going on for this one haha. How about:

Emotional Vulnerability // Self-Compassion
