I get that wider world building helps grow the brand but gaps for the core show dont help the casual fan & a year is a long time for a kid. I’m sure it’ll be great (thinking Children of Earth) but on one level it’s still a “waste” of budget . It’s a strange choice given it was taken at the start.

Which does rather beg the question…why the chuff are we getting a Doctor-less spin off and not a mini series that could work as a Season 3, just with a different narrative style?
