44 years ago today ‘K9 and Company’ - “A Girls Best Friend” was first broadcast on BBC1. The story acted as a pilot for a potential series. Elisabeth Sladen reprised her role as Sarah Jane Smith. A change in BBC1 controller saw any potential series cancelled. Despite good viewing figures of 8.5m.
