In the 70's I worked for a short while at South Wales Port Talbot steelworks when it was still British Steel. Quite an experience and I got to know no.4 blast furnace pretty well!
Oct '24 the last blast furnace was shut down and now imported steel slabs are being put through the rolling mills.

March 2024 our property was again hit by flooding, it’s become a regular occurrence. Made this image a few days later as the water subsided, sun came out and ground dried up.
According to NOAA the March 2024 measure of atmospheric CO2 was appprox 418ppm. 50% higher than pre industry era.
