beefy but less powerful and more expensive (minus the GPU) than what I paid for my kids' desktops exactly two years ago, with these I bought cases and PSUs too

sorta panic bought these parts when the Crucial/Micron news hit and RAM prices were already skyrocketing (notice it's DDR4...), installed Ubuntu Server. Haven't moved my HDDs yet from my current NAS. I tried FreeNAS way back in 2011 and didn't care for it and just went straight debian for years iirc

Fifth is Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, halfway through the year my son told me we had to buy it as it was going to be game of the year, I beat it and he hasn't, I don't know what that says but this was a great game and I won't soon forget Maelle.

My favorite game of the year was Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, it released on PC in January and I poured more than 100 hours into it, I loved it so much, can't wait for more! I even played the Remake demo on Switch 2 the other night just for a taste.
