This is a tough watch.
I can definitely see how this influenced Django Unchained.

Having a champion boxer carry a movie isn't the smartest, but he does a serviceable job.

Pam Grier is hardly in it.
The climax is good, but you want to see some of the awful people truly suffer.

The new Toxic Avenger has a similar jokes per minute ratio.
Saw it in the theater last year, easily the funniest movie of 2025.

Nothing will beat Airplane, but The New Toxic Avenger reboot is also a non-stop riot.

Wings is great in it.
Doesn't go too far over the top, plays a great creep.

But that ending always makes me laugh.

I did a deep dive on Wings Hauser last year.
This and The Carpenter became new favorites.

The ending death scene in the is fantastic.

This is good for a terrible, terrible B movie.
Elements of Robocop and Total Recall, but it all takes place in a space prison.
It's very stupid, but short with a lot of shower scenes.

It would be wrong not to mention the street fight between Paul Newman and Danny Aiello that rivals the fight in They Live

Unfortunately the story trips over itself with the ending
Seems like the real point of the movie was showcasing how parts of the world / New York live and need help to get cleaned up
The cop stuff is a little stereotypical, but the story ain't bad

The performances sell this

Paul Newman is so good and so charming.
Everything he's in feels real.

I got an hour in last night.
Half hour this morning, 30 minutes to go.
This is an excellent movie
