She was kept out of the loop on the Venezuela job because of trust. The Venezuela job was presented as a law enforcement mission. But now she qualifies to be part of a law enforcement mission?!?!

Subpoena signed at 2:30 today and a team immediately moved on it?
January 29, 2026 at 12:43 AM
Nor ProPublica failing to point out the text of the 22 month statute only the criminal penalty one.
January 29, 2026 at 12:41 AM
I know! Weird he only posted the text of 20511, isn't it?
January 29, 2026 at 12:39 AM
Hi Diedrich, you're a great poster. Yes someone should organize it. Washington would have been apoplectic. Please see Hamilton's orders to the original CE portion of ICE:

You don't think maybe he is thinking about "Washington's" birthday by referring to washington?
January 29, 2026 at 12:27 AM
I mean, you skeet about the criminal penalties USC cite but not the record retention cite in the subpoena?! Why?
January 29, 2026 at 12:20 AM
Doug! It cites a law concerning record retention for 22 months, it's over 60 months today! Isn't that notable?
January 29, 2026 at 12:17 AM
and asks for thos specific records??!
January 29, 2026 at 12:13 AM
uh, the subpoena cites a law concerning record retention requiring retention 22 months after the 2020 election? 61 months later?!
January 29, 2026 at 12:12 AM
Can anyone imagine anything that would infuriate the current President of the United States more than "attempting to overcome difficulties" in this way? This is Washington speaking thru Hamilton, the fundamental order to the earliest federal law enforcement officers.
January 28, 2026 at 11:58 PM
And that the way they exercised their authority mattered in a free country! This should matter specifically to an agency drawing their heritage to Hamilton and Washington and the earliest orders given to the CE of ICE.

You have no idea what it means. It's presumption of a frankly lost regularity makes you feel good, positive and maybe that's why they deployed it. Or do these seem like people capable of being forced?

Seems to me the Ramos decision requires an unquestionably broad understanding evident of the 'subject to jurisdiction' argument meaning something other than subsequent behavior by authorities showed, and not just some fussing over language and a quote from a Senator. bsky.app/profile/fish...
"The truth is that we have little contemporaneous evidence
shedding light on why the Senate acted as it did...we are much better served by interpreting the language Congress retained & the States ratified. And, as we’ve seen,
at the time of the Amendment’s adoption," [born
meant born] Ramos v LA mod

saying anything got them a day of press describing "capitulation" a change in tone, "de-escalation" during a legsilative scrap we remain in. They could have felt they had to say anything just to get the Dem Senators cover and rug pull later.
January 28, 2026 at 8:53 PM
I'm not sure Vance's psychological state would be an improvement.
January 28, 2026 at 8:50 PM
Ah yes, more "capitulation"... like Trump's FBI raiding Georgia for 2020 election stuff but giving up on 2016 popular vote.
January 28, 2026 at 7:26 PM
Look on the bright side, he finally let the 2016 election popular vote go!
January 28, 2026 at 7:22 PM
I hear those need to be submitted to the Senate...

An agreement with a foreign power? An instrument negotiated between two foreign powers? You mean, a Treaty? An international convention exists?
