If you want to have one of every job type cause you wanna play ex/savage, you have to pay to unlock them in any reasonable amount of time. A friend who played to see what it was like said the whale indicator in the game are the omniclassers with shiny weapons, not the ones with mog glams.

Is mogstation kinda horrendous? Yeah, it very much is but YoshiP has all but said it’s out of his control and that you should complain to SE about it since the funds don’t get funneled back to him.

Aether currents, mount speed are all pay to use as well. The battle pass didn’t initially have a free tier either plus, and this is possibly the one I hate the most - paying for a shiny weapon gives you an ilevel boost.

Friendly reminder that every time you see a cosmetic you want in FFXIV mobile, you have to pay to get jobs beyond your first one, pay for the battle pass if you want to get it at a half decent level because xp gain is horrendously slow otherwise oh and pay to dye things.

Microtransactions and gacha ruined people's perceptions of what is acceptable to pay in games. I don't think a lot of people realize that the gacha in XIV CN is propped up by the fact that you have to pay for nearly everything + a battle pass, so it's not just cosmetics.
