Fish Safe NS is planning to offer Ovatek-specific in-person training for fish harvesters in Nova Scotia

Fish Safe NS joined the residents of Gunning Cove NS Friday November 14, 2025 just before sunset at the Gunning Cove Wharf to enjoy coffee, hot chocolate and the MOST delicious treats prepared by local residents in celebration of the lighting of their Lobster Trap/Buoy Tree. Great evening!!

The 2nd annual tree lighting is this Friday November 14th at the Gunning Cove Wharf. It starts at 5 pm with music featuring Autumn Dedrick. The lighting will be 5:30 followed by a man overboard demonstration. All are welcome from Gunning Cove and ALL Surrounding Areas.

Regardless of the type of PFD you have, it only works when you WEAR one.
Any time you are around water, make it a habit to wear your PFD.
