Huge news in our fight against dangerously hot prisons in the state.

A federal judge certified our lawsuit as a class action. Now we can fight for thousands of people suffering in these unlivable conditions all at once.

This is one step closer to ensuring basic living conditions for people inside.

Executing people with intellectual disabilities is unconstitutional.

But Florida did it anyway. David Pittman was executed on September 17th.

We will continue to callout and fight against a system that chooses punishment over human rights and mental health.

After years of advocacy, the #TristinMurphyAct is now active in #Florida. @fji-law.bsky.social is proud of the role it played in this important piece of #CJReform.

We hope that this new law gives comfort and support to the Murphy family and anyone else navigating mental health challenges.

Starting today, the Tristin Murphy Act is officially law in Florida.

This is a big step in ensuring people in prison get the mental health care they need. It’s the result of years of advocacy from Tristin’s parents, Cindee and Dennis.

The state allowed Victor Jones to be abused as a child. Now that same state wants to execute him.

The Florida Supreme Court has denied the motion to stay the execution.

Our thoughts are with Mr. Jones and his legal team as they face the next step in this excruciating process.

Proposed new rules from the Trump Administration would make it much harder for public servants like teachers, nurses, and legal aid attorneys to get the relief they’ve earned.

That’s why FJI joined 250+ other organizations to fight back against these changes.

Florida law says people who are found incompetent to stand trial must be moved to a treatment facility within 15 days, but on average it's well over 100 days.

These laws are not suggestions, they are life saving guidelines.

Prison cells easily reach triple digit temperatures as most in Florida have no air conditioning.

These are inhumane conditions and it's exactly why FJI and other organizations continue to bring lawsuits across the US.

Today we celebrate the legacy and tradition of the American labor force.

Like many of rights we enjoy today, it took activism and organizing to fight for fair and safe working conditions.

Equal pay, worker's comp, and the abolition of child labor are just a few of the things we take as a given.

Jessica, wishing you all the best on your special day!
