Sad how AoT's popularity has exposed how fiction's portrayal, prima facie, is readily taken as endorsement, and how fiction is taken as a direct portrayal of actual reality, without its ironies, underlayers, details, complexities - its speculative function, its distance from reality, its art, lost.

A passing phase. The 2nd work is new and need not be related to the 1st. The last thing he can do, though, is heed naysayers; I hope he only heeds valid criticisms. Cos for those saying AoT is fascist: what's not in the catastrophe that doesn't scream a criticism of fascism and a cautionary tale?
Hajime Isayama doesn't think he will be able to create a project like 'Attack on Titan' again
"If I try to write anything, it ends up feeling like a [rehash] of an element I already used in 'Attack on Titan' ... [It] was like emptying out everything inside me until I was completely drained"

I turned my back on my Psychology degree for a reason. My old, half-forgotten feeling came back when I made this comment. I know it's (almost) pointless to post comments on social media, including YT; still I do, sometimes, less to send a message across, but more to order brief thoughts in my head.

"I know it's (almost) pointless to post comments on social media" is proven true yet again.
What's funny is this stance is easily assimilable into a pro-Zionist one that allows impunity for Zionism and their crimes 'cos there "should be no sides" or "all sides have equal validity." 'Cos isn't this precisely the stance being taken up now by Zohran and AOC in their legitimization of Zionism?

What I notice about this platform is that there's a general avoidance stance among many of its users. There's this atmosphere of artificial peace, which (as time has told) is more insidious than open chaos. It takes a lot of silencing, censoring and imposed blindness to achieve that false peace.

The original poster thinks that mentioning Umberto Eco will add intellectual rigor and credibility to her words and silencing quotes and replies shows her intellectual superiority and discipline. These do the opposite.

What's great about JJK is it's fun-spirited enough that it leaves room for play in its design and creative direction as evident this season. Inspiration from Munch's The Scream and Klimt's The Kiss are so fun to see, as well as the painting backdrop for Yuta and Yuji. Sequences have creative flair

Choso is so sweet! Really just a pillowy soft marshmallow inside! Funny how the sorcerers were at first always surprised by his presence cos he's such an odd man out but he was never fazed by it. He's unassuming, with no cockiness at all, a slowburn, and look how he wiped the floor with Naoya!( ꈍ◡ꈍ)

JJK The Culling Game (s3 ep 1 - 2) was such a delight to watch. What surprised me the most was the art. Its pastiche style and vibrant colors. This plus the tempo changes and the discontinuous movements, combined with the great music, really created unique effects. Comedic touches were good, too.

Scholars on genocide have confirmed that what's happening in Gaza is genocide. To call it a 'fighting over' is a denial of the fact and a complicity to Israel and allies' inhuman acts. 'Fighting over' has a fine distinction; it suggests equal power of parties and denies Palestinians' indigene status
I overheard a teacher tell their student that the 'holy land' is being 'fought over'. So sad this misconception prevails in my neck of the woods because it's what the local media promulgates. What's happening is colonization, occupation, extraction, business, political expansion, racism, genocide.

I'm aware there's racism in this view; that people here find this view more acceptable and preferable because racism is also rampant here. Palestinians can't be seen as the oppressed because of their ethnicity and religion (the latter especially is false, as there are Christians and Jews there too)

At least, 4 people have been educated. lmao. (It's a negligible number; my ideas have always been unpopular, although there's nothing original in what I said because it's the story that says it, which just needs to be recognized; but, four is four.) I wrote it in a fever; it could have been better.

If I see another parroting of "there's no good side or bad side" and "both sides are the same," or variations of these, I might actually convulse with a paroxysm. What's this poor dross of milquetoast centrism? Why is this stance easy, popular and comforting? 😭

Someone is suggesting I have dementia, when in fact, what I have is anxiety. Aren't he and his friends one of the causes of this anxiety? I may be an anxious lone wolf, but I'm not an idiot to get affected by, or easily believe in, their ill-intentioned suggestions.

Reactors are what they say they are and nothing more. Society has devalued the work and skillset of the professional critic and quality media criticism feels rarer now than even just a few years ago

Many YouTube reactors (not saying all) only care about earning cash, instead of truly or carefully understanding the piece of media they watch. Sad to see.

I'm plodding along the series and am currently in season 2. The plot unravels and gets more intriguing. It's right up my alley, in fact. Governments and insurgencies? Count me in! But, it has elements that make me queasy, tbh, elements at times bawdy, a bit perverse, which I feel are unneeded.
I'm currently watching Golden Kamuy and, so far, enjoying it.

What I love most about the series is its suggestion about the triumph of being able to tell your story, your history. The real victor is Armin, the storyteller. He survived long enough only to tell their history - the only reason for surviving and living: the oppressed writing their own history.
Attack on Titan's tragedy is anchored on specific offenses that violate what can be humanly handled and naturally allowed. They're the driving force of the story's dilemma and pain, and Eren Jaeger's fall. It calls into question what can be borne and committed by humans before the collective breaks.

Back in college, I took the MBTI, along with other established tests, as a requirement of a course. I remember the day being tedious; for MBTI alone, I took both step I and II (with 237 items)! I got the same result back then. Fascinating how MBTI rose to popularity, now a staple pop psych typology.
