Had the pleasure of leading AI workshops with @munichcenterml.bsky.social‬ for 2nd- and 3rd-graders in late June!

Designing the material was a fun challenge, and I've never had a more curious audience. Here we explored MT (had to stay true to my roots); check out what they wanted to translate!

Party time! 🛎️🎉 We had a cozy barbecue by the Isar river to celebrate MaiNLP’s 3rd anniversary — here are some impressions! 🎂

🎉MaiNLP is turning 3 today!🎂🥳 We’ve grown a lot since @barbaraplank.bsky.social started this group with nothing but three aspiring researches and a hand-drawn sign on the door. Huge thanks to all the amazing people who have joined or visited us since. Here’s to many more years of exciting research!🚀

Let kids play!! Our priority should always be getting and keeping as many of them in sports as possible — that includes allowing them to compete how they feel comfortable

Love this attitude, and tried to channel it when I recently got (semi-)scooped. Research begets more research

ok, I have no idea what was going on on the dark side, and no strong opinion about publication cycles, but I had 3-4 discussions about the "scooping" problem in the last weeks. So buckle up 😁.... 🧵 1/11

Change my mind: Conferences should move to a year-round submission window with papers reviewed in the regular review cycle.

That way papers are time stamped and the pressure (especially on our early researchers) of being “scooped” is ameliorated to a degree.
