Like I get it, we’ve been burned before (cough cough Fetterman) but contextually I just don’t think we’re looking at a secret Nazi. I think we’re looking at an idiot.
But he’s a better idiot than the other idiots, so, were I in Maine I’d still vote for the idiot. 🤷♂️

And similarly, I - a “left/liberal” person who DID vote for Kamala - will never forgive the Democratic Party for throwing out democracy as a whole because they were too scared of putting forward candidates and policies that would have gotten votes but might anger their donors.

Trump is bad and it’s important to point out the bad things he’s doing.
That said, the greater point I think needs to be made is Democrats have been running AGAINST Trump since 2016. They haven’t been running FOR anything.
And the most successful Dems (Zohran, for example) have very clear GOALS.

LIBERALS often sided with the conservatives against these things.
Or they poo-pooed and tsk-tsked and told the leftists they were asking for too much, or were being naive and didn’t “understand how the world works.”
Liberals rail against working class movements at every turn… and then take credit.

I agree with most of your takes, but this one is off the mark. AI users are like people who smoke in public places or purposefully mod their trucks to spread black smog.
They’re not the biggest cause of the issue, but they aren’t helping and deserve to be criticized for it.

Of course it was made by humans. And while the events in the film are fictional, its influences, like serial killer Ed Gein are real.
This COULD happen. We ARE that sick as a species.
And that’s why it’s one of the greatest horror movies ever made. (5/5)

It’s no wonder audiences bought Tobe Hooper’s claims that it was based on true events, or that urban legends about “real” corpses have abounded since it came out.
It feels primal in a way no other movie does. Like it’s evil, like you shouldn’t be watching it. Like no human could have made it. (4/5)

Remove the van of teens, the blood, the kills, even Leatherface himself, and what you’re left with is still a haunting art film, filled to the brim with lingering closeups of corpses, roadkill, decay, and some of the most disorienting editing and sound design you’ll find in an American film. (3/5)
