In my writing days I profiled a few trans folk who opened up to me about their parents.
Even if it went well, the dread and fear at not knowing how their parents would react to their true identity was vivid in their minds, even years later.

I’ve had a long career working with words myself, including tracking the fluidity of their implied meaning over time.
You can say that everyone I grew up with in my part of Canada in the 1970 and 80’s got it wrong, but the “urban dictionary” meaning in my time and place was clearly anti-Semitic.

I went to the first Jays game in 1977 when I was 11. I almost caught Joe Carter’s ‘Touch ‘em all Joe” ball in the left field bleachers in 1993.
Drake ain’t a Blue Jay thing.

I saw Bill Singer throw the first pitch while freezing my 11-year-old ass off on metal bleachers in the snow in 1977…I almost caught the “Touch ‘em All” ball in the left field bleachers in 1993…I believe that the baseball gods are real…I saw this outside my window this morning.
