Yeah - one of the anecdotes is a coworker getting the same exact HPWH from the same exact company as I did 3 years ago and my total after rebates and credits was $1250 and her total is $3450

I see this anecdotally in the electrification world also. Approved contractors for various rebate programs are clearly inflating prices in order to pocket larger and larger pieces of the rebates. Consumer all-in cost is still reasonably low, but would be nice if gov’t had some controls on it. (lol)
