As a child I would naively believe that given the facts those in charge would rally together and solve the problem. The reality is the time traveller would be kicked out of city hall, made a fool of in the media, and when that bridge did collapse they would claim no one could tell it would happen.

When confronted with the deaths and cost they would still chose to do nothing and let it be someone else's problem. Even if you told them their family died in the accident they would just tell them to take a different route that day.

I personally have Amerihealth through my employer and when I went to the doctor recently the receptionist remarked at how high my copay was. 50 bucks to have my blood pressure, weight, temp, and heartbeat measured and then a 5 minute bullshit session so I can just get my prescription renewed.

The reason why single payer is always preferable is because insurance providers can't fuck around and if the federal government is the single payer the fuck around goes to find out real quick.
