I feel you. I think it's because my screens don't "wake up" in sync. Apps on the second screen invariably move to the main screen as if single. (Recent win->mac convert)

My best UX was running TomTom maps on my Palm m105 with a Bluetooth GPS dongle, a long long time ago.
Google maps came somewhat close (killed the market for paid apps) then gradually worsened every year...
