Thank you!!! I can’t imagine swapping at this point; I’m invested now. 💀 I don’t want to break his heart 😭

I think both are great consoles; I play both and use them in different scenarios. If you are expecting the polish of Nintendo on a Steam Deck, you’ll be disappointed. If you’re expecting the freedom of Steam on a switch, you’ll be disappointed.

Switch is more reliable; the steam deck can be incredibly buggy at times. Games that aren’t Steam-verified usually require you to get creative for the controls, so you spend a good chunk of time mapping them and troubleshooting. Sometimes you need an external keyboard/mouse.

Switch wins for co-op for me; more people have a switch, and you can improvise. I spent a flight once playing Mario kart with the kid next to me that I didn’t know because of how the joycons work.

You get freedom on Steam Deck; it’s a portable computer. Emulate, mod, use different controllers, etc

For travel, the switch is my preferred console just because of how large and heavy the steam deck is. It’s easier to pack and it comes with its own kickstand. If I’m flying, the steam deck is staying home lol.

When it comes to shop UI, Steam wins hands down. The eShop is horrific lol.

Overall, solid direct; my first impression of the virtual game cards is mostly positive, though I wish it was a little different… but still better than sharing currently is. I’ll be very interested to see what the switch 2 direct will bring so…

Alright, post-EN: I think the timing for Pokémon was a little better or maybe I was just more ready for it, but I’m hyped; they might as well have made the game exclusively for me with city Pokémon life lol

Other than that, not a huge amount of difference. EN focused a bit more on soft games but

Highlight for me was actually probably Metroid 4 Prime and Project:;Cold; both seem incredibly interesting. Also Raidou Remaster seems… fun? I’m intrigued.

Also excited for new AITSF but my excitement is a little blunted by how iffy I am on Iris lol. She’s just not my favorite 💀

I love this game but Jesus Christ I hate this font

I will say after Chapter 1, there’s a lot more hints given about Ray/Kuneri. I don’t know how I personally would have brought them into English—I don’t think there’s a great way—but it does foreshadow that in a lovely way.
