I think if Vance is the GOP candidate in 2028 (fairly likely), and loses (pretty much guarantee, barring significant election interference), and denies that he lost (basically 100%), he has a decent chance of being the Republican nominee in 2032 because “he’s the incumbent; no the REAL incumbent“.

If we beat Trumpism without guns, I can’t see any reason not to get rid of the 2nd Amendment.

Growing up, I always assumed that all the guns would be the key piece to resisting an authoritarian federal government, but we basically haven’t seen them at all so far (which, imho, has been the right tactical move).

If this was from Starmer, I might buy that he was deluding himself. But no one in France wants to work with the USA for its own sake. Macron is being clear eyed here, he just thinks he can manipulate Trump if he gets him alone in a room.

The one thing I would point out is that the inflation numbers for housing specifically don’t make any sense; there is a clear gap in the data. So you’re right about the rise in grocery costs, but overall inflation is definitely above 2.7% (we just don’t know how much). www.wsj.com/economy/the-...
