Our hosts in South Korea craved reunification. They took us to a symphony concert and Tchaikovsky was followed by a vocalist singing an aria dedicated to that yearning.

You may not look old enough. It pisses me off because I worked in film sound and I am well aware that high end hearing in particular, but all frequencies decline with ageing. Toward the end I lived in fear that some golden eared young mixer would ask what that awful flaw was in a track I had laid.

A very large supervisor came flying out of the shop delivering threats of calling mall management, the cops, the armed forces (not really all of them, but if she could...)
Now I just glower at the 'barkers', but they still p*ss me off.

I had an 'interesting' encounter re listening. You may have noticed the poor shop assistants whose job is to approach (targeted? old?) passers by in shopping malls and attempt to lure them in for 'hearing tests' I finally became so p*ssed off that I compared one to a barker outside a strip joint 1/2

I'm reminded of my old man, a chippie, who refused to fix anything electrical which led to much dispute with my mother about non working household electric devices. I inherited his caution. Leave it to the sparkies.

Thanks

Many of them can be fixed or tinkered with. I sometimes wonder what those many teens who worked on cars to enhance or improve their performance and/or appearance do now. More seriously I note that farmers here have recently won the right to repair their own tractors, harvesters etc themselves

So the whole circuit lies in the overhead wiring? As you may conclude I know nil about electric technology, but I thought that 2 distant points that required something like a whole carriage to connect was how it worked.

Ah yes, I've made the digital acquaintance of those ladies. The Korean supermarket I go to has a random range (as in you can't count on it) of vegan foodstuffs like 'fish' sauce and TVP strips, 'mince', and coins. Thanks.

Probably way back when Twitter was OK the thanks extend to and originate from, my first heads up via @moviessilently.bsky.social

Assumed :) But nevertheless an elaborate 'typo'

Why stop at 'vegan'? Toss in 'gluten free' as well.

Unless you're intending that they pop over to UK to visit that nice Mr Navalny when they grow up.

I'd settle for a Vatican entry wherever it was held: Swiss Guards doing Gregorian Rap?
