I've sought for quite some time, a quality in my work combining the detail of pen & ink, the graphic nature of block printing, and the physicality of clay. In this piece, I feel I've come closer to that goal than ever before.

I'm returning to clay once again, but thought I'd share my most recent pen & ink. Stating the obvious, this is from Arches NP. Part of my long held, and quite recent, obsession with decay, erosion and ruin.......

My latest pen & ink drawing of a dormant desert shrub in an arroyo near Joshua Tree. Of late, I'm drawn to the rugged beauty of these survivors, struggling to thrive in a hostile, unforgiving environment.......hmmmmn. How timely.

For those who have followed or collected my work in the past, I'm currently on a bit of a hiatus from clay, focusing on a long-lost love of pen & ink drawings. I'm able to achieve greater detail in my images, and I'm having a great time with this (re)discovery! I hope you enjoy.....more to come!

Hey, I'm brand new to this platform....preparing to abandon other social media. I'm a visual artist working in drawing, clay and photography. I've been at this for 50 years or so. My work is inspired by trees, nature and landscape, with a heavy dose of Asian, Celtic and other Art Historical styles.
