So, in "Signalgate", the Inspector General's report says Hegseth shared secret information in an insecure chat app and thus put our troops at risk. We ONLY know this because they stupidly included a journalist in the chat, and he shared the info. Hegseth refused to cooperate at all.

Well said, Senator Murray!
You set the example from the top. Is it "civil" to call a fellow passenger "piggy?"

Always be kind to your fellow passengers as well as airport and airline staff.

In short: don't be like Donald Trump.

About 42 million people get SNAP: 40% children, 1.2 million military veterans, 23,000 active military families and 8 million seniors. Trump and R's are ok with slashing food while he shows off his gold bathroom remodel in the White House and throws a lavish party in Mar a Lago. Let them eat cake!

Americans have been dragged, tackled, beaten, tased and shot by immigration agents.

They’ve had their necks kneeled on.

They’ve been held outside in the rain while in their underwear.

At least three citizens were pregnant when agents detained them.

More Than 170 U.S. Citizens Have Been Held by Immigration Agents. They’ve Been Kicked, Dragged and Detained for Days.
The government does not track how often immigration agents grab citizens. So ProPublica did. Our tally — almost certainly incomplete — includes people who were held for days without a lawyer. And near...

Have we reached the point where we can say the US is in a constitutional crisis? Has American democracy failed? Has the US descended into authoritarianism?

Yes. It is happening. Right now.

Not because of one incident, but a series of moments and choices . . .
It is happening here — and we just witnessed the moment everything changed
History’s path is never linear. But its turns can be very sharp. It is rare to be able to identify the moment when we can say “this is the point at which everything changed”. So have we reached the poi...

Serious problem! These folks have a terrible decision to make, but it's a bigger problem, really. Trump's "flood the zone" is normalizing the most outrageous stuff. We need to be on the streets NOW.
I do not understand why government officials resign when asked to do something bad.

The resignations will no longer be treated by the public like a scandal. It’ll be out of the news within 24 hours. People should stay and force the White House to fire them.

Do not make it easy.

Why do no reporters ask why the wealthy and corporations needed the tax cuts??
This has always been the GOP's strategy:

1) Cut taxes for the wealthy & corporations by claiming they'll pay for themselves.

2) Explode deficits

3) Use the debt as an excuse to demand cuts to vital programs that help millions.

4) Repeat.

Patriotism isn't about building walls, punishing immigrants, cutting taxes for the rich, attacking the press, or dividing us by race & faith.

True patriots don't pander to divisiveness or hate. They work to confirm the "WE" in "We the People of the United States."

If we were to cut out the tax breaks for the billionaires in the Big Ugly Bill, we could fund healthcare and so much more. Watch the video and call your R reps and senators....the R's need to know we're out here and we do care.
In the time you spend watching this video, Jeff Bezos will earn more than what the majority of full-time American workers earn in a year.

Say it with me: Tax the rich.

Medicare for all, paid leave, universal childcare.

Busting up big corporations and tackling Wall Street’s greed.

Getting big money out of politics.

Supporting unions and fighting for higher wages.

If Dems want to win back working people, this is the agenda they must support.

Billionaires need both tax cuts and to not pay their fair share or Social Security. The rest of us will just have to suffer and die, I guess.
Instead of CUTTING Social Security benefits, Congress should INCREASE payments by $200 per month and extend the solvency of the Social Security program by 75 YEARS.

How? Make the wealthiest Americans pay a fairer share.

I’ve got a bill to get it done.
Social Security's insolvency date is now a year earlier. Here's how it could impact your benefits.
Social Security is dipping into its trust fund to pay current retirees, with spending outpacing its revenue from payroll taxes.
