When begged to retake the throne of the Roman Empire Diocletian responded: "If you could see the cabbages that I planted with my own hands, you would not suggest that I exchange the peace and happiness of this place for the storms of a never-satisfied greed".

Perhaps the only good thing to come from the social media ban is that it’s more difficult for people to create troll accounts because they have to verify their age by legal documentation.

Today kids will be cut off from social media. This punishes the many for the wrongs of the few. Teaching parents & kids about bullying, harassment & harmful content online is the key to creating a safe space for children. Taking away choice & freedom of expression/communication is not the way. 1/

It’s taken me a month to read Alchemised. Over 1000 pages long & I finished part 2 which is 84% of the book. Starting part 1 again b/c it makes part 2 make sense. But it’s so emotionally traumatic. The sacrifice & pain is immense for this protagonist. The movie needs to do this masterpiece justice.😭

I will never get over the fact the one of the Titanic’s bakers helped people into lifeboats, throwing some people into them to save them, threw chairs into the water for people to float on, drank copious amounts of whiskey and stayed in the freezing Atlantic for 2 hours all before being rescued. 🤯

I’ve had this new mattress open and expanding for not even 10 minutes and Achilles has already claimed it as “his bed”. 😒🤨

Breaking News: A federal court said that Alina Habba, a Trump-appointed lawyer, had been serving unlawfully as the U.S. attorney in New Jersey. She was neither confirmed by the Senate nor appointed by district trial court judges — the two traditional pathways.
Appeals Court Says Alina Habba, Former Trump Lawyer, Is Serving Unlawfully as U.S. Attorney
The judges wrote that the Trump Administration appeared to have become frustrated by legal and political barriers that have prevented its preferred U.S. attorneys from leading federal prosecutors’ offices.

Slowly spring cleaning my house and emptying out my wardrobe so the Christmas tree is going up a little later this year. We’ll keep it up until February. It’s fine.

It’s December 1 and you know what that means. Cue the cheesy, B-grade Christmas movies. First on the list is A Castle for Christmas with Brooke Shields and Cary Elwes.

Cleaned out half my wardrobe today which resulted in 4 garbage bags filled with clothes, some of which I don’t even remember buying or wearing. Lesson: Be a more conscious shopper. If you don’t need it, you don’t need to buy it.

TFW you have to re-sit your exam for the last subject of your degree because the chief Invigilator was coughing throughout and causing disruptions which made everyone lose focus and fail.
