Seconding this! I’ve masked consistently for about a year now in all public places! I also use an air purifier at work and have avoided getting further sick as well (I developed Long Covid about a year ago). If you’ve been putting it off, NOW is the time to mask back up.

Actionable Steps You Can Take Right Now

In the face of the new presidency, it is easy to feel hopeless. Here are a few simple things you can do right now to make a difference.

Get a library card- and use it. Read banned books.
Say no to overconsumption- find creative ways to use what you have at home instead. Do you need 6 Stanleys?
Shop small- if you are spending money, spend it on small, local businesses when possible.
Minimize/stop social media usage on Meta (FB, IG, Threads, Messenger), X, and Tik Tok.
Support artists and art- buy tickets, buy art, show up. Music, writing, and art have a way of connecting us all and help to inspire change.
Research organizations in your city that are fighting for what you believe in, and join them. Big changes often start small, and local.
Take care of yourself- get plenty of sleep, drink water, create a mental health action plan.
Wear a mask (N-95's, KN-95's, etc.) and make sure you are up to date on vaccinations. Protect your health. (Trump pulled out of WHO).

The fight for freedom is a marathon, not a sprint. You can’t burn yourself out week one. Take breaks and find time for joy, laughter, and love.

woke up this morning and decided to get into a fight with a shitty man that is trying to resell LLFP on facebook marketplace for $900 and he had the AUDACITY to quote taylor lyrics back to me. get out of my house

Have the day you deserve.” The response to my initial message was “Make me an offer,” followed by “Buying and Selling bootleg albums if your favorite artist is so unethical.” with a screenshot sent of a bootleg copy of beautiful eyes vinyl that I sold on marketplace for what I payed for it, $50.

the person added “i’m sure taylor would be so proud of you!”. I responded “I was lucky enough to get one for face value in the original drop, and even if I didn’t, I would never pay $900 to a reseller.
I bought that vinyl from my local record store, and decided someone else would appreciate it more. The bootlegs of that album can also be resold for over $200, and yet, I didn’t.”
they responded “Still you knowingly bought a bootleg and then resold it. 2 crimes. At least I am legal here.”

I messaged back and said “You can act like you have the moral high ground, but at the end of the day, it’s shitty to resell something for a 1800% markup in price. I could even understand selling it for $100 or $200. But $900 is ridiculous. I won’t respond again, but like I said, have the day you deserve.”

The final message this person sent to me said “It’s okay, life is a tough crowd. People throw rocks at things that shine. You are not the first today, nor the last. I plan to have a wonderful day! Thanks!”
