H-2A employers legally must post their jobs in the US before offering them abroad. Foreign workers here legally to work are being detained, now there's nobody to work the fields. If US doesn't want the job & won't let H-2A do it, it won't get done. "The fear is here"

Florida farmers struggle as legal foreign workers worry about immigration crackdown
Even agriculture workers who enter the U.S. legally, doing jobs Americans find undesirable, are fearful of being targeted by federal enforcement.

10/2: Trump proposes to cut wages for all farm workers by up to $7/hour AND charge them rent for gov't provided housing. @ufw.bsky.social says it's “a catastrophe for American workers... When guest worker wages are lowered, it is American jobs that are lost" to cheaper foreign workers, hurts us all.

As farmworkers work tirelessly to feed our nation, Congress plans to cut funds for Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act & give even more funds to ICE. Plus, if Congress doesn't approve all 12 spending bills for 2026 by 12am, there will be a gov shutdown. Sign ->

In 2021, consumers were more likely to be struck by lightning than win in FA. Why do corporations get to choose where to settle disputes but consumers and workers don’t? The #FAIRAct will #EndForcedArbitration and restore our freedom to choose where we are heard.

📦🔥 Warehouse workers shouldn't have to choose between their health and their job security. That's why the Warehouse Worker Resource Center was instrumental in California's fight for indoor #HeatProtections, which took effect in July 2024. Now we need to extend those same protections to all workers!
A photo of a warehouse worker in an orange vest, safety glasses, and gloves. He grimaces and wipes his forehead. In the corner, an image of a caution sign reads "FOOD WORKERS ARE HOT" and "HEAT PROTECTIONS NOW." To the left of the image on a field of yellow, text reads "WAREHOUSE WORKERS" followed by a quote: "The scorching summer days we are experiencing increased health risks to workers. All too frequently, workers must decide between their job security and their safety. But employers have a duty to ensure the safety of workers and to take all necessary steps to prevent illness including access to water, rest periods and an appropriate pace of work." - Sheheryar, Executive Director, Warehouse Worker Resource Center, Ontario, CA.

More deportations = less food on your table
"Just in the last four months, agricultural employment has fallen by 155,000 workers, the biggest dip in over a decade." One big piece of anti-immigrant rhetoric is that they steal American jobs-- where are the Americans now?

🔥👨🏾‍🌾 The problem with #ExtremeHeat isn't just the temperature: workers get paid less if they take breaks; they aren't provided with sufficient drinkable water; their protective gear makes them hotter. That's why @j4mw.bsky.social is demanding action from the Ontario Ministry of Labour.
In the background: people hold signs that read "FULL JUSTICE NO HALF MEASURES" and "MIGRANT WORKERS ARE NOT DISPOSABLE." Laid over top of the photo, a caution sign in the corner of the graphic reads "FOOD WORKERS ARE HOT" and "HEAT PROTECTIONS NOW!" On the left side of the page is a quote from a farmworker with Justicia for Migrant Workers in Onatrio, Canada:

“Based on my experience with ginseng and to face extreme weather conditions in Canada that weren't safe nor healthy at times. Working in sun, rain, thunderstorm and snow throughout the season...

“My message to the Minister of Labour is that farmers don't care about temporary workers. All they are concerned about is getting their work done efficiently. Without breaks or even lunch, and long workdays."

"A July 2025 CBS/YouGov poll asked Americans, “Do you approve or disapprove of the Trump administration’s program to find and deport immigrants who are in the U.S. illegally?" The respondents were divided, with 49% of Americans approving and 51% disapproving."
