the single jump landing only lasts for 4 frames, after which mario will start sliding; so best case scenario you'll have 2 or 3f to double jump if your single jump is very close to the line.

i think the glitchy double jump is just a single jump where the bomb pushes mario onto the slope (so that he lands instantly) followed by a double jump on the part of the slope that goes down, so the closer you jump to the edge of the slope, the more frames you'll have to do your double jump.
