I don't like "never elect" when we can inform, empower, choose. With my second baby, doc listened, examined me, planned vbac. & shared info so i understood what had to be in place at 39 weeks. Scan estimated baby was too big for my small pelvis. 3 days before due date i elected a c section.

Women usually elect a c section under the advice of a doctor. Both of my baby births were scheduled - a few days before the birth - because they could see trouble was definitely coming. So sure I love your story but your advice is a bit mean.

On this it is really worth following south african economist @wandilesihlobo.bsky.social and reading his book "A Country of Two Agricultures"

Apartheid ended when I was 30 and being born into a favoured group under fascist rule warps perception. My school colleagues remember a golden childhood even for poorer families. They really dislike being reminded that somewhere else people were being terrorised and harmed.

I grew up in apartheid SA classified white and sure, fascism is bad for everyone. But brown people felt daily terror of state violence, school curricula were deliberately modified, land/farm ownership largely prohibited, forced removal into segregated living areas, night time curfews.

Gender neutral bathrooms and change rooms are so good. Allows all parents to help all their children, carers to accompany vulnerable oldies etc.

Ah. I have a tale.
Maybe the opportunistic thief mistook the big dark hardback book for a laptop but yes, the car was broken in to and the book was stolen. Otherwise it would be a weird crime.

No, you did not. And (oh I am giggling at myself now) I meant rusted but typo-ed busted myself! So - sorry! And thanks for the opportunity to be fundamentally amused.

"Busted Robots" snuck in there! Metal health? Yes, I love typos that keep on giving.

At first I read "you are not immune to panda" but yes, of course, neither am I immune to propaganda.

provide proof of your statement? Rasool is a diplomat, not a politician. Ramaphosa is elected and on his second term so he won't stand again at the next south african election and no evidence of being a dictator.

Thanks, that is generous.

I see where you are with this but I really think sports could be more interesting if they became innovative with rules for the edges.
I often think of how appallingly caster semenya was treated. As a child at race meets she was regularly asked to drop her pants to show teachers her genitals.

So that I don't have to try it.... can you remember whether you felt cleverer though? Because that might explain....
March 8, 2025 at 3:00 PM
Maybe we should separate by weight and size (other?) and not by gender then? Because of course some genetic differences are advantageous for some sports but they don’t sort neatly by gender (at birth).
March 8, 2025 at 2:49 PM
Yes. And it would be wonderful if we looked at all of the elite sports that are affected because even before trans people entered the debate... well it was obvious that it is needed given the difficulties and direct cruelty applied to hormonally in-between women in elite sports.
March 8, 2025 at 8:15 AM
It matters in some elite sports so sort out something to keep things interesting or fair. But...that is not the most of us who just sport for fun. And then what matters is that enough people turn up for a good game, session, run etc. I compete against my own times mostly.

No. No "unless". If you want to fight him do it in the ring.
