poor thing needs a new alternator AND a new radiator. this isn't the only repair it's needed recently, and it's getting to the point where it may be worth just giving up on the old thing and finding a new used car that's a bit less worn out...

i switched to mint from windows and i've been loving it!! though i don't have any experience with other distros so take my recommendation with a grain of salt.
