It’s a little concerning (and annoyjng!) to see a gig you have tickets for turn up on one of the seat filler sites, especially as it’s a small venue, but I’m sure it’ll be fine and it wont be a bit too intimate…
The Wrestling! Except now it’s called Clash of the Comics. But it’s still The Wrestling to me, and I fully expect it to once again be one of the best things ever! God bless Max and Ivan!
(Worth acknowledging, however, that they are the sort of band that probably wouldn’t exist without rich parents, I.e. they definitely went to the sort of school where you had to wear a hat as part of the uniform)
GIG UPDATE: The New Eves. Like a folk horror Last Dinner Party, filled with feral femininity. The album is quite the experience, but seeing it live is something else entirely.
For the support band’s first song, the singer counted all the numbers from 100 down to zero, rather than coming up with any lyrics. Then for the second song, I heard what he considered to be acceptable lyrics and longed to be back in those heady days.
One of the reasons I wouldn’t do Saturday Night Live is that I would die of embarrassment every time I had to do the cringey “Live from New York it’s Saturday Night!” thing at the start of the show. I mean, it’s not the only reason - it’s probably not even the main one - but it’s one of them. #snl
Just gave some tourists directions to Camden Market - yes, yes, I’m part of the problem. TBH, they didn’t look like Camden Market people, but maybe a trip to Cyberdog will open up a new chapter in their lives.
It is Nicola Roberts’ birthday today! So why not celebrate by spending the day listening to the pure pop perfection that is Beat Of My Drum, a song which I’m 99% sure immediately hit the number one spot and NEVER LEFT.
