I do like how Larian starting this has gotten these folks forced back into the firing range. Both need to do better.

That being said, neither of us should assume how the artist feels about using it and if there is pressure or not, based on the limited information. It is unlikely they will speak out.

Being outnumbered is common, but it should never stop someone from speaking up when they see people being wronged even if they can offer their voice. Given they responded to the negative attention, it's clearly accomplishing something, even if just a small victory.

If AI contributed, then there is AI is your game. Concept stage and final product are not something you can draw a line between. As for the staff, Larian admitted to push back and said 'everyone' is okay with using it, which to me suggest everyone is expected to use, and worries were ignored.

Research reference and composition are key parts of the development/creation of concept art. His clarification actually just reinforced that's what it is being used for.
