Curating and cataloging the world's data for the fruit fly Drosophila melanogaster into our database at http://flybase.org. Aiding discovery since 1992.
You can find a link to the Frequently Used GAL4 and Other Binary System Drivers resource at the bottom of the GAL4 etc QuickSearch tab.

Links from FlyBase gene reports to FlyCyc pathway pages have been updated to reflect the latest associations.

You can find those links in the Linkouts subsection of the External Crossrefereences and Linkouts section of Gene Reports.

We have recently updated FlyCyc biocyc.org/DMEL/organis..., the pathway-genome database representing Drosophila metabolism, to include enzymatic complexes as well as further improvements to enzyme annotations. #FlyCyc is now classed as a ‘Tier 1 Highly Curated Organism Database’.

Also #NewInFlyBase for FB2025_04:
You can now access the @alliancegenome.bsky.social BLAST service directly from the FlyBase toolbar at the top of every FlyBase page. The path is Tools>Genomics Tools>Fly BLAST @ Alliance.

There's an update on the state of FlyBase on the FlyBase.org front page. You can contribute to FlyBase at this link wiki.flybase.org/wiki/FlyBase...
We express enormous gratitude to the people, labs, groups, and foundations who have already helped us.

The results page, here shown for a BLASTX search shows a graphical overview at the top of the page.

The hit list beneath looks like the BLAST output you know and love.

or a search can be restricted to only Drosophila melanogaster databases.

Once you enter a DNA or protein sequence in the search box, you'll be offered appropriate options for the nucleotide or protein databases you wish to search.

You can now search FlyBase and WormBase sequence data using the Alliance of Genome Resources BLAST server:
www.alliancegenome.org/blastservice
The Fly interface allows searching against many arthopods,

Some of us at FlyBase found the contribution page a bit complicated, so we've made a video walk-through of the IU donation site. Note in particular, after you've chosen to donate 'in memory or honor' of someone, the tribute section has boxes for first and last names. Enter FlyBase in both.

Metabolic Pathway reports include a curated list of genes that have been experimentally shown or are predicted to act within a pathway.

Two visual representations of the pathway are provided: a “text-book” representation (Pathway Thumbnail) manually drawn by FlyBase curators,
