Thank you Historian Beschloss. Keep the memories, the history flowing in this space. Even the parts that don’t make us feel good to remember. We should learn all about where we have been as Americans. We can return to the good and never the bad.

I was 4. My eldest brother was giving our mother a drivers lesson. I slept on the back seat of the car. When the report of the JFK assassination came over the radio, my mother screamed and slammed into the rear of a car.
I woke up with a bloody lip and to a crying mother.
