Every so often,we'll see a Letter-to-the-editor from some misguided soul, advocating for a businessman (gender specific) to run the country like a business.

Well,we've done that.Next time someone makes a similar call, just point out Luxon and ask them how that worked out for the Nats and rest of us.

If anyone thinks we can bake this planet, smothered under increasing CO2,and escape to Mars - i have bad news.

The radiation on Mars will fry you faster than Earth's gloval warming will cook you.

THERE IS NO OTHER HABITABLE PLANET WITHIN LIGHTYEARS OF US. THERE IS NO PLANET B.

At least we have a competant Govt. Ie, the Reserve Bank.

Not sure what Luxon's or Willis' roles are, though...? Seat warmers?🤔
fmacskasy.bsky.social
And Landlord Luxon must be wondering why his useless Party has dipped under 30% in the latest Curia poll.

Noboats Willis may think we're twits, but even twits finally get sick of inept politicians.

#nzpol Sometimes a policy is so stupid it makes you question the very fabric of reality. Decisions so fabulously, almost wantonly dumb, you wonder if we actually live in a simulation. Welcome to the world of removing Jobseeker Support for 18 & 19-year-olds. craigrenney.substack.com/p/a-small-wr...
A small wrinkle in the Jobseeker policy
The government’s recent changes to benefits feel like this: the house is on fire, and this policy is them turning off the smoke alarm and saying it’s fixed

Only ever saw the 1982 version...

...but i've introduced my wife (she proofreads my blogposts) to The X Files. I think she enjoys the Will They/Won't They between David Duchony and Gillian Anderson.

She enjoys it (mostly).

He's also flat out wrong. The jobseeker benefit includes people who are temporarily unable to work due to health conditions. Key changed it all in 2013.

Right?

The amazing thing is she thought she could get away with it.

A recent media story sussed her 100% - she thinks we are all idiots.

A kaupapa Māori youth homelessness group says benefit changes will increase whānau stress and push more rangatahi onto the streets.

If they're living on street and beg for food, cops will move them along for vagrancy. NZ Govt is OK w poor 18 - 19YOs dying off.

Well, let's hope the Greens and TPM pull them to the left, just as Act pulled the Nats to the Right. Not much else in the way of alternatives...

Christopher Luxon replied: "When you go on a Jobseeker benefit, you're deemed able and capable of working."

Swarbrick retorted: "You don't understand the question."

That is why so many people are turning away from Luxon & Willis: they are TONE DEAF.

Hundreds of teens with a health condition, disability may be cut from Jobseeker benefit
The government is ending Jobseeker payments to 18- and 19 year olds whose parents earn more than $65,000.

From RNZ:

In Parliament on Wednesday, Green co-leader Chlöe Swarbrick asked the prime minister if he was aware that his cuts would impact teenagers "who may be disabled, sick or experiencing severe mental ill health".

If these results are replicated in other Polls, Luxon will be replaced.

The 'twenties' are a death zone for any political leader, and previous Nat leaders have been rolled when they polled higher.

For whom the bell tolls, it tolls for thee, Mr Luxon.

She should resign.

Reserve Bank slashes Official Cash Rate by 50 basis points
The central bank has opted for boldness over caution, and has left the door open for another drop.

"...but was guided by the outlook, including stronger inflation pressures, and the risk that too small a cut would further hold back the economy."

If I were Nikki Noboats, I would be thoroughly ashamed. The RBNZ is having to shoulder the burden in kick-starting the economy.

All her attempts...(2)

"The Reserve Bank has opted for boldness over caution as it delivered a 50-basis-point cut the official cash rate to 2.5 percent, and signalled further reductions.

It said it considered a smaller cut... "
