Tron Ares falls straight into the same category as Madam Web and Morbius (ironic isn't it). I'm really struggling to say something nice since it is x-mas after all. Even with the nostalgia bait Just Say No... 4/10.

As soon as I realized Plur1bus was a mystery box show I should have turned off.
Still R.Seehorn & K.Wydra does amazing performances and had me tuning in for each episode.
Even if the show tosses a novel premise at you the overall writing and pacing bored me, 6/10.

Wake up dead man surprised me. A good murder/who done it mystery. Good cast, great deliverance though I still feel D.Craig goes overboard in his character.
A few overly dramatic cinematic shots in an otherwise lovely looking movie. very strong 8/10.

Last content update to Monster Hunter Wilds brings a spectacle fight. A, as expected, fair bit easier compared to the FFXIV crossover event.
Unfortunately can't say I noticed much of the first batch of cpu optimizations but I look forward to the coming ones.

That'll conclude my tv-series and movies for this year.
Best of -25 that I watched:
Series: The Pitt.
Movie: Guillermos Frankenstein
In this regard overall a pretty mediocre year for me.

Two last episodes of IT Welcome to Derry are some top tier tv. Gore budget spent well. Skarsgård and Chalks performances are top tier.
Still very annoyed of the previous slow pace and ridiculous dialogue writing for the kids. Starts and ends with strong 8, middle low 6. So overall I guess 7/10.

Caught up with Slow Horses.
Jonathan Pryce delivers a stellar performance. Rest of the cast is written so one-dimensional much of their talents are wasted.
For a modern British crime show it delivers on expectations, not more. Could have been better in a shorter format, ie five 1½h movies. Weak 7/10

Following this years game trailer (awards) show I'm falling in line also tooting the GotY -25 Clair Obscure: Expedition 33 horn.
I did expect to like it but not so much I explored every nook and cranny of it. (20% off on gog atm fyi ;-)

Sorry for political and sports tweet but... Fifa peace price?
Really?
C'mon timelines we've done this enough, how about a merge back into reality.

I'm a big fan of Sir Gary Oldman and someone pointed me towards Slow Horses.
S01 was full out British crime and cranky ol'man who cares deep down series. 6 ep format is not a plus and I think the story would have worked better as a movie instead. 7/10 and I will watch S02 but it better pick up.

Took some time but finally watched KPop Demon Hunters.
I'm most definitely not the target audience or demographic. Still it's the second best movie I've seen this year.
Catchy tunes, great animations & cutest side character this side of Grogu.
Solid 9/10.

Spelling mistakes, AI art, lacklustre world representation...
I'm still surprised WotC pulled the Monster Hunter Secret Lair drop for "rework". Now please give us some proper commander decks instead of overpriced reskins.

Anne Rice's Talamasca was fine.
Decent acting, good environments, decent story, decent cinematography.
I do wish we'd seen more of J.Schwartzmans Burton who portrait of a vampire of the chronicles universe was nothing short of excellence.
Overall strong six or weak seven out of ten.

Been swamped with "Why the Star Wars sequels were bad" youtube videos lately so I tried rewatching them.
I can't get through The Last Jedi without falling asleep, tried four times now.
It has some ups but mostly the story is just boring.

Lowkey impressed by Where Winds Meet.
Wonderful atmosphere, great character creator, decent puzzles, quirky and memorable side-quests together with Sekiro-light combat.
UI took some getting used to.
The menu system is straight from the deep trenches of UX design that should be forgotten.

2025 gave us two of best npc's ever.
They're both similar and still worlds apart.
One full of wine and one full of song. If they ever met I'm sure they'd be the best of friends.

April fools came early? or late?
Valve announce 3! of something.
(I'd be very much in the market for the gabecube if the ram can be doubled and at least 12gb of vram. But I guess it'll stay keep pricepoint low)

As the game year of 2025 draws near its end we've eaten good. Looking back it's been a year of mostly sequels. Some great, some decent and some stinkers.
