This is what I think, too. FIFA needs to make a statement, and I'm pretty sure they could ask the 8 largest stadiums in Europe if they could host a World Cup on a few months notice and the answer would be "yep, why not next week?" Olympics are harder to move, unfortunately.
Why would any tourist come to the US Olympics or World Cup if there's even a 5 percent chance they can be detained by ICE for not having their passport or papers on them?

I’m struck by how close we’re getting to finally curing some of the world’s worst diseases—sickle cell, Alzheimers, pancreatic cancer, etc.—at the same time that the world’s worst people are destroying medical research and care around the world.

The GOP passed a budget resolution tonight that will gut Medicaid, SNAP, and other vital programs — as 60% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck.
Why? To finance more tax cuts for the top 1%.
We have socialism in this country for the rich, harsh capitalism for everyone else.
