Spent my free time building Proof Pocket so I could finally store my important documents securely offline. Everything stays on your device, protected by Face ID, Touch ID, or a password.

If this sounds useful:
look in IOS/Android stores or check
Website: proofpocket.com

And genuinely - if you're building privacy tools or writing about digital security, let's connect. Always down to talk about this stuff.

For the technical folks: Uses iOS/Android secure enclave/storage, ChaCha20-Poly1305 encryption, biometric/passcode unlock, everything stored locally in sandboxed app storage.
For everyone else: Your stuff is in a vault that only exists on your phone. No one else can access it.

My actual use case: I travel constantly and got tired of keeping sensitive stuff in Google Photos.
Passport scans, receipts, NDAs, random QR codes I need access to - stuff I want locked down but accessible.
Didn't want to trust another company. So... I just built it.

So I built something different.
It's called Proof Pocket - a vault app that's actually offline.

- No servers, no accounts, nothing leaves your device
- Everything encrypted locally with ChaCha20-Poly1305
- Zero tracking, zero analytics, zero bullshit
- Works completely offline

The question that kept bugging me:
Why does a photo vault app need:

- An account/login?
- Internet permissions?
- Analytics SDKs?
- Location access?

If it's truly private, shouldn't it work 100% offline?
No servers = no way to breach your data.

I started keeping a spreadsheet of popular vault apps and what they actually do:

- 73% use cloud sync (even if "optional," it's enabled by default)
- Most track what types of files you store
- Several share data with "partners" (cool cool cool)
- A few had breaches they barely disclosed

Most vault apps that claim to be "secure" and "encrypted"?
They're still uploading your stuff to their servers.
Even the ones with "end-to-end encryption" often sync metadata, thumbnails, or make cloud backup the default setting.
Your private docs aren't staying on your phone.

So here's the thing that made me start this whole project:
I needed somewhere to store my passport scans and private docs while traveling.
Tried a bunch of "encrypted vault" apps.
Then I actually read their privacy policies.
Oh boy.

Spent the last 6 months building a photo vault app and went deep into how these "secure vault" apps actually work. What I found was honestly pretty sketchy. Most people have no idea what's happening with their data. Here's the reality 🧵 #privacy

My app just hit ver 1.1.0 and with it there's a PDF encryption added + few improvements :)
