Ultimately I think the core issue with this miniseries is just Sabretooth is not a very compelling or deep main character. I think this is the best possible story you could tell with him as the star. It's not too bad, but nothing to write home about. Art's nice at least. (2/2)

Sabretooth (1993) - Another 4 issue limited series. Story's nothing special but it's decent enough to not have any complaints about. The art by Mark Texeira is a real treat. (1/2)

Gambit (1993) - Great showing for Gambit here, definitely made me like the character a little more (and i already thought he was fun). I love all the family and guild and relationship drama here.

I really liked the stuff with Cable and Stryfe here, it's been built up quite a bit and seeing them finally face off and having all the little teases about their characters pay off is pretty fun. (2/2)

X-Cutioner's Song (1992) - It's crazy how a crossover event can be fun and not feel like a chore if you let it largely unfold organically and don't just drag in the whole universe. It helps that I like all the teams involved and enjoy seeing them interact. (1/2)

he's sorta marvel aquaman, more or less (but actually came first). King of Atlantis, proud and noble, but also rather standoffish and sometimes launches invasions of the surface world if the mood strikes him. so it's a bit of a coin toss if he's part of the problem or the solution in any given story

maybe the only guy in the world for whom that's a codename upgrade

i remember seeing him in a comic and being like "why is there a guy named Goldballs" and then my friend was like "he's actually called Egg now because the gold balls he makes are eggs"
