What most commenters seem to miss is that we are talking about complete *beginners*. People who are not au fait with gaming culture & conventions. Also, the UI for most web stores (like Steam) is not good.
I remember what it was like when I started 12 years ago.
Most helpful is having a mentor.

I imported it from US (Amazon, I'm afraid). Only way for us Kiwis since the publisher has denied distribution to NZ.

My local EB kindly enquired with EB HQ Australia (where physical is available) and the answer was "it's the publisher's decision".
