I would imagine someone evading the law would be reluctant to seek public assistance, but someone who's served their time should be able to get help. The purchase and prepare requirement makes it difficult for ex-felons to eat with their families, because they may not be part of the SNAP unit yet.

Yes, true, there are exceptions. I believe @salaambhattiva.bsky.social and Andrew Cheyne have had some advocacy wins in this area

So you can meet the SNAP work requirements by working for a nonprofit org--in exchange for SNAP benefits instead of for money. Seems fishy. Is this happening anywhere else?
